Bhopal: A Dalit woman panchayat member has been allegedly beaten up by the village head after she tried to seek the account for a particular project. The police have registered a case in this regard.

 


The victim, Rama Devi, has claimed that she had gone to the sarpanch's house to seek the account for a particular development project in the village. Rama Devi is an elected panchayat member from Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh's Nadia.

 

The village head, Ram Singh Yadav, allegedly refused to give the account and instead manhandled the couple with the help of his son. The police said the complaint was being investigated.
