New Delhi, August 29, 2005:- The CBI, which investigated the Graham Staines murder case in Orissa, on Monday filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order reducing the punishment of convict Dara Singh from death penalty to life imprisonment. The special leave petition (SLP) of the CBI said that the manner in which Dara Singh and his accomplices killed missionary Staines and his two minor children required the case to be classified under the rarest of rare category and imposition of capital punishment on the convict. -Press Trust of India
