The aicc Orissa Chapter organised a protest in Bhubaneswar on 9 December 2007 to ask the government to give Scheduled Caste status to Dalit Christians and Muslims, protect religious minorities, and protect Dalits from frequent attacks. More than 700 people attended the rally. After the rally the delegation submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Orissa.
