Hyderabad: A group of Hindutva activists has attacked St Mary's School at Kadiri in Ananthapur, Andhra Pradesh, destroying the furniture and other properties.
On 26 January 2009, the activists rushed into the school premises of the school and beat up the sisters. They also destroyed the school furniture alleging that the school did not host the national flag on Republic Day. The attack happened in spite of the fact that the school had hoisted the flag in private, without the children.
Hearing the news, the pastors in the area gathered together and went to the local police station to file a complaint against the attackers. The police had not yet registered any complaint so far, sources said. All India Christian Council has condemned the attack on the school and sought action against the culprits and also security for the school. |
