ImageBhopal: Alleging forced conversion, number of Hindu organisations’ activists created ruckus at a church of the Arera Colony in Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh on 26 July 2009.

Incident started in the afternoon, when a middle-aged woman identified as Kunti found performing some rituals at the church premises.

As soon as the information reached the members of the Hindu organisation, they barged inside charging the church authorities for forced conversion, the police said.

Meanwhile, cops of Habibganj police station also reached the spot to pacify the agitating activists. Agitators were of the view that the priest concerned should be booked. The woman in question told the media that “she visits church regularly and there is no such issue of conversion.”

Later, the activists gave an application to the police to conduct an impartial probe in this regard.

Since there was no such evidence to substantiate the allegation and the woman as well denied from the charges, so far no case has been registered in this regard, the police added.
