ImageHyderabad: Hindu fanatics have stopped a birthday celebration at Jeedimetla Village in Secunderabad of Andhra Pradesh alleging that the Pastor who came to take part in the celebration had been indulging in fraudulent conversion activities.

According to sources, the incident happened late in the evening on 29 January 2010 when a group of people claiming themselves to be members of Hindu Vahini, a wing of Hindu fanatic group, came to the venue and disturbed the birthday celebration of the son of one Ramesh. The fanatics also entered their house and abused the family members.

When Pastor Satyam was returning home after the celebration, the Hindu Vahini activists numbering about 50 abused him alleging forcible conversion activities in the area. The miscreants also called in the police and in the presence of Assistant Sub-Inspector Nayak, they forced Pastor Satyam to eat the food offered to idols. They threatened to harm him when he refused to eat. Later he was taken to Petbashirabad police station and released after some time.

Pastor Satyam said, “The police officer on duty refused to register a complaint against the miscreants for intruding into Ramesh’s house and stopping his son’s birthday celebration. We will now approach higher police authorities if the local police officers refuse to register the complaint.”

Pastor Satyam is a senior pastor of Good Shepherd Community Church and also member of All India Christian Council. The state branch of All India Christian Council is in the process of filing a complaint against the Hindu Vahini members.
