ImageOn Dec. 6, 2010, Reynold Veliyil (39), Antony Pathinanchil (41), Vincent Punnackal (38), Antony V. George were arrested in Malikamukku Jn., Alleppey, Kerala. The ruling political party in the area, the CPI (M), falsely accused the men of trying to attack its leaders.

The men are Roman Catholics who actually are followers of this political party. They allege there is discrimination inside the political party towards certain religions. Police were urged to file the case against the men by local politicians who said the men tried to attack party's Ex-Branch Secretary and local leader Mr. V. V. Rajesh and his son Jishnu.

They were released under bail after physical abuse by the local police at Alleppey South Police Station. A local newspaper, Malayala Manorama daily, reported the issue on December 7th and a friend of the victims contacted aicc.
