The President of Indian  of All IndiaJustice Party and Chairman Confederation of SC/ST Organisations, Dr. Udit Raj was arrested while he was on his way to stage a Dharna at AIIMS alongwith several hundreds of his workers and lodged in Defence Colony Police Station.

In the melee one person was seriously injured and admitted to a hospital in a critical condition. SC/ST and OBC Doctors belonging to AIIMS who wanted to participate in the Dharna have also been arrested

 

Despite Supreme Court orders anti-reservationists have been holding demonstrations within the AIIMS premises at the instigation of the AIIMS director, Venu Gopal. Today when the President of Indian Justice Party and Chairman of All India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations, Dr. Udit Raj, wanted to stage a Dharna alongwith several hundreds of party workers and SC/ST, OBC AIIMS Doctors, they were prevented from doing so. Dr. Udit Raj was treated like an ordinary criminal by the police and the workers were lathi-charged. One of the workers was seriously injured and was admitted to a hospital. The Pro Reservation Front demands that just as anti-reservationists have been allowed to hold a Dharna within the AIIMS premises, the Pro Reservation Front should also be allowed to hold a Dharna within the AIIMS premises. All rules have been thrown to the winds by the anti-reservationists for staging a Dharna at the instigation of AIIMS director, Venu Gopal. The Front demands that AIIMS Director, Venugopal, should be immediately removed for anti-social and illegal activities.
