Bhopal: A youth raped a 14-year-old Dalit girl at knifepoint at Mahuakheda village in Madhya Pradesh on 18 April 2007. The police have registered a case of rape under the Harijan Act. The accused is absconding. According to Bairagarh police sources, the incident happened when Dalit Hargoind's daughter was alone at her house. Rashid, son of Nabi Sher Khan, a resident of the same village, forcibly entered the house and raped her at knifepoint. Rashid also beat her when she resisted and threatened to kill her if she dared to inform anyone about the incident. The victim informed her parents when they returned from work in the evening. They took her to the local police station and registered a complaint against the accused.
